Our Mission

What does Kickstart do?

We provide both financial and human capital to student founders at the University of Georgia, and provide an unparalleled experiential learning opportunity to members of the fund. We aim to promote the University of Georgia and greater Athens community as a hub for entrepreneurship on a regional and national scale.

How do we award grants?

We maintain 3 grant types, for every step of your entreprenuerial journey.

Starter Grant

For businesses that know there's a need and are looking for funding to create the solution

$500 - $1,000 Available

Regular Grant

For businesses with revenue or businesses that have gone through an accelerator

$1,000 - $5,000 Available

Follow-On Grant

For previous Regular Grant recipients, with demonstrated growth

Kickstart is more than a grant.

Kickstart founders regularly go on to raise additional grants and equity funding, and have received follow-on equity investments from many other venture capital funds (including Mark Cuban!)

Pre and Post Liaison

Work with a Kickstart member during the pitch process (and after, for funded companies) on key aspects of your business.

Key Resources

Access support in preparing your pitch deck and receive detailed pitch feedback, regardless of outcome.
